Friction Materials

Below you will find descriptions of some of our more commonly used friction material compounds. These materials have been used with great success in many of our current customer's applications. This is just a sampling of friction formulas that we provide and we have many different compounds that provide varying degrees of characteristics, so please contact us with your requirements and we will be more than happy to assist you in providing a friction material that will meet your requirements. As a custom manufacturer, we are able to tweak our formulas or design a compound that will meet your exact needs. All of our compounds are asbestos and lead free.

Lo-Co Friction Materials

6110

A lo-co material that has a lot of good characteristics. 6110 is an excellent wearing compound that coats the mating surfaces, provides stable torque, and does not abrade the mating surfaces. Some applications are tension control, motor brakes, and other industrial applications where lo-co materials are desired.

990120-S

A lo-co material that is gentle to the mating surfaces. With this characteristic, it can be used against many different materials from aluminum to steel. The material has an excellent wear rate and it has stable friction. This material can be molded into custom shapes and can be bolted, bonded, or riveted to metal carrier plates.

Mid-Co Friction Materials

951222

A good general purpose material for brake/clutch applications. This material can be molded into many different configurations and provides stable torque throughout its operating range. Some applications that this material is used in are: Mining applications, motor brakes, and industrial brake/clutch applications to name a few.

90222

An excellent disc brake material that can be used for fork lifts, utility vehicles, and other similar vehicles. This compound provides our customers with excellent wear properties and it has a stable coefficient of friction across a wide temperature range.

950324

A good wearing material that is kind to the mating surface and has a stable coefficient. This was originally developed for the lawn and garden industry to run against aluminum. We still provide this material in this industry today, but its roll as expanded into tension control and other industrial applications.

951227

A material that was developed for the appliance industry. This mid-co material provides our customers with excellent reliability and repeatable performance. The material can be molded to many different shapes and sizes depending on your requirements.

Hi-Co Friction Materials

070402

A high coefficient material that was developed for the industrial brake and clutch markets. This material is suitable for a dry environment only and has good thermal stability and wear characteristics. 070402 can be molded into complex shapes, gear tooth facings or flat sheets up to 2" thick. It has relatively good strength which allows this material to be mounted by either bolting or riveting. This material can also be bonded to many different substrate materials.

970310

A good high coefficient material that exhibits exceptional wear characteristics with a close dynamic to static coefficient of friction. This material can be bonded, riveted, or bolted to corresponding core/carrier plates. Some applications are service and parking brakes for fork lifts, stamping press clutch/brake applications, and other industrial brake/clutch systems. This material can be molded into your specific configuration and bonded or riveted to many different substrate materials.

060411

A high coefficient material that was developed for the industrial brake and clutch markets. This material has good thermal stability and wear characteristics for this material type. 060411 can be molded into complex shapes or flat sheets up to 2" thick. It has relatively good strength which allows this material to be mounted in different ways from bolting and riveting. This material can also be bonded to many different substrate materials.

090204

A high coefficient material that was developed for the industrial brake and clutch markets. This material is suitable for a dry environment only and has good thermal stability and wear characteristics. 090204 operates well in gear tooth PTO clutch applications.
